  • 'Europa' is a naturally dwarf walnut tree, perfect for small gardens and versatile enough to be grown in various settings like pots and gravel terraces. Surprisingly, 'Europa' can produce sizable oval-shaped nuts in just three years after planting which can be harvested green in September for pickling or left to dry and store until October. The tree attracts early pollinators with its green catkins appearing from May to June and boasts bright green leaflets and smooth bark that turns silver as it matures, making it an ideal and beautiful specimen tree.

  • Garden care: Though a relatively compact variety if left unpruned they can reach up to 6-7m tall when mature, however with regular careful pruning they can easily be maintained at around 3-4m tall. Regular pruning will also encourage bigger crops of nuts. Pruning should be undertaken between late summer and autumn to avoid excessive bleeding. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly.
