This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  • Position: full sun or lightly dappled shade
  • Soil: fertile, moist soil
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: June to July
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

A dwarf, airy, fluffball-flowering perennial for drifts in the front of the herbaceous border or subject for a patio pot. Finely cut foliage, reminiscent of an adiantum fern, ‘Little Pixie’ send up mischievous, frothy pink flowers on dark, slender stems to attract attention from pollinating insects. Ideal for wildlife and cottage gardens where its pastel, hazy clouds will delight all.

  • Garden care: May need supporting with brushwood or garden canes. Divide congested plants as new growth begins in spring, although divisions may be slow to re-establish. In autumn cut back flower stems to the ground.
