Indulge yourself in the beauty of this popular tender perennial. 'Surfinia Deep Red' boasts a vigorous and slightly mounding growth habit with a trailing reach of up to 40cm, making it ideal for hanging baskets, containers, and even seasonal ground cover. This early-flowering gem can reach a height of 20-30cm and sports oval-shaped, sticky and hairy mid-green leaves. The real showstopper, however, is its rich red, velvety flowers, gramophone-trumpet-shaped and measuring around 5.5cm across. Perfect for warm, well-drained spots that bask in the sunlight. - Garden care: Grow on in a greenhouse or on a sunny windowsill. When all risk of frost has gone, transplant outdoors where the plants are to flower. Shelter from drying winds. Apply a liquid fertiliser fortnightly throughout the growing season.
