An vigorous yellow water iris, suitable for planting at the margins of large ponds or lakes. Iris pseudacorus var. bastardii produces clear, sulphur-yellow flowers on branched stems in July and August and ribbed grey-leaves. An elegant and robust water-loving iris that provides excellent wildlife potential.
How to care for Iris pseudacorus var. bastardii:
These plants are potted up (using a suitable aquatic compost) into aquatic pots. These pots are made of a fine mesh, which allows water to circulate through the compost, providing the plants with both oxygen and nutrients. If you are using them as a aquatic plant, they can be planted into neutral to acidic soil (for best results) up to a water covering of 25cm (10") deep. To enhance flowering divide congested clumps every three to five years.
