This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  Creamy-white flowers, which have outward-facing, cup-shaped blooms flushed with light, pinky-brown. ‘Cinnamon Snow’ is a useful hellebore for illuminating areas of partial shade beneath deciduous trees or shrubs early in the year. This adaptable and semi-evergreen perennial will smarten any garden, balcony or terrace in early spring and is ideally suited for planters, both as a specimen plant or combined with ivy and Heuchera, to create stunning flowering arrangements for the doorstep or patio.
  
  
• Garden care: Add lots of well-rotted leaf mould, compost or manure to the planting hole. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted organic matter around the base of the plant and provide a top-dressing of general fertiliser each spring.
