This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  • Position: Full sun
  • Soil: Moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil (or John Innes no. 3 compost for containers)
  • Rate of growth: Average
  • Flowering period: May to September
  • Hardiness: Frost hardy (may need winter protection)

  • ‘Diamond Pink' is smothered in pale-pink flowers, slightly darker than ‘Diamond Light Pink’ and formed on branching, leafy stems throughout the summer. This gently trailing, frost hardy perennial can be used to cascade over the edges of a wall, a window box or simply to add colour to a pastel-coloured seasonal bedding scheme.

  • Garden care: Protect newly planted Diascia from overnight frosts (if still present) in the early stages of establishment. Once divide congested plants in early spring or late summer. Protect young plants from slugs and snails. Trim after flowering. Protect from excessive cold or wet winter weather.
