'Exburiensis' is an excellent choice for a wildlife-friendly garden. This dense, evergreen shrub boasts arching branches that can withstand coastal and moderate exposure conditions once established. In May-June, it bursts into clusters of white blossoms, followed by a profusion of long-lasting yellow/apricot berries with a charming pink blush as winter sets in, and its lance-shaped leaves offer a unique blue-green tint.
Please note: This cotoneaster is listed on Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981). It can be planted and contained in private gardens, although it is banned from being planted in the wild in England and Wales.

After flowering in late spring or early summer, lightly cut back any branches that spoil the symmetry of the plant and apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant. In autumn trim back lightly any branches that obscure the display of fruit.
