'Alex Fisk' is a gorgeous, large-flowered clematis, which produces and abundance of showy violet-blue blooms, each with a prominent centre and wavy-edged pointed tepals, from late spring to midsummer. A second flush may also appear in late summer.
Clematis need their roots to be kept cool and moist, so plant the base of these climbers in light shade or provide shading with other plants or a dressing of pebbles. Remove dead and damaged stems before growth begins in early spring, cutting all remaining stems back to where strong buds are visible. Apply a slow-release balanced fertiliser and a mulch of of well-rotted garden compost around the base of the plant in early spring.
- Humans: Skin irritant; Pets: Harmful if eaten
