This bulb dies back after flowering each year and enters a period of rest ahead of regrowth the following season.

  A low growing tuberous perennial, which is much-loved for its large, black-eyed, violet-blue flowers, which appear in spring over mounds of finely dissected foliage. The velvet-like petals form large open bowls, and gradually open out even further before they fall to create saucer-like plates. Anemones make charming cut flowers and can be planted out in the garden, where they will look lovely at the front of a sunny border.
  
  The kit contains 1 x planter, 5 x Anemone 'Mr Fokker' corms and 1 x expandable coir (compost) pellet.
  
  
• Garden care: Pre-soak tubers for 3 hours prior to planting 5-8cm (2-3in) deep and evenly spaced around the planter. Cover and check weekly for emergence and that the soil has not become waterlogged or dried out, removing the cover when the shoots begin to emerge. Move to a brightly lit location outdoors (hardening off if grown indoors). Feed fortnightly with a liquid fertiliser when developing and consider planting out in the garden after flowering by choosing a spot where they can be left undisturbed to naturalise and spread.
