Schizachyrium scoparium 'Standing Ovation' (PBR)

little bluestem ( syn. Andropogon scoparius )

Product Image
Slender blue-green foliage forms a dense clump, from which the wispy flowerspikes arise in late summer - around the same time as the foliage takes on a purplish red hue. The foliage colour of this striking grass then continues to intensify in autumn, becoming redder and redder before dying back for in winter. The clearly upright silhouette of Schizachyrium 'Standing Ovation' will help add structure to the border, while the colour of the fiery foliage will draw the eye and create a handsome focal point.
