Transform any space into a living art gallery with these captivating tulips that will infuse your home or garden with charm and beauty. Each bloom embodies the rich and colourful brushstrokes of a skilled painter, with double wine-red petals creating a dramatic backdrop for the rasberry-blushed orange, and near-black burgundy's to shine through. These tulips are more than just flowers; they are living works of art that will infuse your home or garden with charm and beauty.
How to care for Picture gallery tulip collection:
Using fresh, good-quality compost, plant bulbs in pots from September to November. For borders, we advise waiting until after the first frosts (typically mid-October to early December depending on your location) to reduce the risk of potential disease such as Tulip Fire. Plant bulbs 15-20cm (6-8in) deep and 10-15cm (4-6in) apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Alternatively, allow 7-9 bulbs per 30cm sq or 60-75 bulbs per m². If you’re unable to plant your bulbs immediately, they can be stored in a cool environment with good air circulation. Remove all the packaging and place them in a loose-weave jute sack before labelling and hanging up in a dry, unheated garden shed or well-ventilated greenhouse.
In spring, when the plants are in active growth, apply a high-potash fertiliser (like Tomorite) each week until the leaves start to die back. Pinch off the spent flower heads as the petals fall, and let the stem and foliage die back naturally. The bulbs can then be lifted and discarded, or cleaned, dried and stored (as before) for replanting the following autumn.

What's included:
In each collection you will receive the following:
- 7 × Tulipa 'Paul Scherer': Tulip breeders have been trying for years to create a variety that produces a near-black flower on a tall stem - and here it is! The blooms are large, oval, almost egg-shaped, and sit on top of a sturdy stem in late spring. Plant in bold drifts for big impact, or tone it down with silvers and pinks. This variety has been granted the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. Grows to 50cm.
- 7 × Tulipa 'Antraciet': Huge double flowers that have loads of petals that make this tulip look more like a peony. Before they open, the buds are a very dark red, but once the flower emerges it turns a more purplish-red colour. This tulip, with its super-sized flowers, really packs a punch. Grows to 40cm.
- 7 × Tulipa 'Asahi': Classic egg-shaped blooms open to form generous cups of colour, with hints of red, magenta, orange and yellow all blended into one. This means it can be used to partner solid blocks of any of those shades, but it will also look stunning with richer purples and near black - or even with its polar opposite on the colour wheel, blue. Grows to 50cm.
