A large maidenhair tree variety with a striking upright, columnar growth habit and dense foliage with distinctive, fan-shaped, lush green leaves that provide ample coverage in summer. In autumn, 'Golden Spire' transforms with spectacular golden-yellow foliage and is non-fruiting, unlike some other ginkgos.
How to care for Ginkgo biloba Gold Spire ('Blagon'):
When despatched these trees have a tall main stem which is important at this stage in their development, with few branches. Requires minimal pruning. Remove any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly.
