The young foliage of this Japanese cedar is creamy yellow, and as the tips of the stems are slightly weeping, the overall effect is particularly graceful. Eventually forming a small to medium sized pyramidal tree with fibrous, reddish brown bark, it is happiest when grown in a sheltered spot with some protection from scorching sun and cold winds.
