Long, slender shoots create a distinctive (and fun) moptop-like effect, which in time will slowly spread to form a flat-topped green mound. It makes a handsome, low-growing specimen for the front of the border, and could also be planted en-masse to form dense year-round ground cover.
How to care for Chamaecyparis pisifera Filifera Nana:
Apply a generous layer of mulch around the base of the plant (avoiding the immediate crown) in late winter. Pruning is not usually necessary, however any shoots that ruin the symmetry of the plant can be removed in autumn.
