Forming a dense cone of blue-green foliage that is arranged in fan-like sprays on the branches, this popular conifer is holder of a well-deserved AGM, which is only awarded to plants that have been judged by the RHS to be great garden performers. It makes a great candidtae for a pot on the patio, while in the border it will offer year round interest.

Apply a generous layer of mulch around the base of the plant (avoiding the immediate crown) in late winter. Pruning is not usually necessary, however any shoots that ruin the symmetry of the plant can be removed in autumn.
