A graceful, low-growing fern with slender, dark green fronds, which are held by shiny, near-black stems. A semi-evergreen plant, it will keep its fronds throughout the winter if the temperatures do not drop too low, thus providing year-round interest.
How to care for Asplenium trichomanes:
Plant into soil that has been improved with organic matter and mycorrhizal fungi (Rootgrow), water regularly during the growing season and continue to do so until the fern has established. Winter-damaged fronds can be removed in early spring as or just before the new growth emerges.
