white snakeroot ( syn. Eupatorium Chocolate )

Product Image
Long-lasting, pure white flowerheads appear from July to September above attractive bronzy-chocolate foliage. This lovely clump-forming perennial is easy to grow and manage and the flowers are attractive to bees and butterflies.

Ageratina altissima 'Chocolate' is a versatile plant for a mixed border, where it looks great with ornamental grasses and will extend the season of interest.

How to care for Ageratina altissima Chocolate:

Plant in moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade, ideally in a spot sheltered from strong winds. It does best in humus-rich soil and benefits from regular watering in dry weather, especially in its first year.

Cut back faded stems in late autumn or early spring to encourage fresh new growth. Mulching in spring helps retain moisture and suppress weeds. Divide every few years in spring to maintain plant health and vigour.
