    • Position: full sun
    • Soil: fertile, moist but well-drained soil
    • Rate of growth: average to fast-growing
    • Flowering period: May to September
    • Hardiness: fully hardy

These elegant, clump-forming perennials are valued for their prolonged flowering period, often producing airy clusters of star-like flowers from late spring to early autumn. Their nebulous form makes them ideal for unstructured planting schemes and cottage gardens, where they add a touch of movement and lightness to the border. Originating from prairies throughout North America, they thrive in moist but well drained soils where they get lots of sun, however they are tolerant of a little light shade.

Each collection contains 3 plug plants, one each of the following.

    • Gaura lindheimeri 'Whiskers Deep Rose' The deep reddish pink flowers of this gaura are accentuated by a cluster of spidery white stamens. Their enchanting colouring they mix very easily with paler pink, white and purple flowering perennials. Grows to 40cm.

    • Gaura lindheimeri 'Summer Emotions' Each white petal has a cerise-pink, picotee edge, creating distinctive two-tone flowers that emerge from slender, rich pink buds. Compact, yet vigorous and free-flowering they are excellent for patio pots. Grows to 30cm.

    • Gaura lindheimeri 'Sparkle White' Loose panicles of pure white, butterfly-like flowers, form billowing clouds above the fresh green foliage. Its an ideal companion for ornamental grasses, and it can also be used to create vertical interest towards the front of the border. Grows to 60cm.

      Supplied as plug plants

    • Garden care: Resist the temptation to cut back after the plant has flowered, as it takes on beautiful autumn tints, particularly in cold weather. Cut back and divide large colonies in spring.
