This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  Producing an abundance of flowers over a long period, this little gem really offers a lot of bang for the buck! It’s wonderful in pots or windowboxes, but it can also be threaded through the front of the border.
  
  
• Garden care: Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and water well during hot, dry spells. Cut the faded flower-stems back down to ground level in autumn and compost.
